On 14th January PM Modi Greetings on Uttarayan. May there be an abundance of joy in our lives.
Know About Uttarayaṇa:-
The term Uttarāyaṇa (commonly Uttarayan) is derived from two different Sanskrit words – “Uttara” (North) and “Ayana” (movement) – thus indicating a meaning of the northward movement of the Sun on the celestial sphere.
This movement begins to occur a day after the winter solstice in December, which occurs around December 22 and continues for a six-month period through to the summer solstice around June 21 (dates vary).
The reason for this difference is that the solstices advance by 50 arcseconds each year because of the precession of the equinoxes, which is the axial precession of the Earth. The difference between the sidereal and tropical zodiacs is this difference.
The Surya Siddhanta bridges this difference by relating the four solstitial and equinoctial points with four of the twelve boundaries of the rashes.
Dakshinayana is the complement of Uttarayana, i.e. the six months when the sun is to the south of the equator. The period between Karka Sankranti and Makara Sankranti is the sidereal zodiac and the period between the Summer solstice and Winter solstice is the tropical zodiac.
Amit shah gives Best wishes to everyone on the auspicious festival of Uttarayan and said May Lord Surya Narayan bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to everyone’s life.
