Since coming into power in 2014, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made significant efforts to promote and prioritize scientific research and development in India. Under his leadership, the government has taken several measures to strengthen the country’s science and technology infrastructure, with a focus on improving the quality of scientific research and ensuring that it benefits society at large.
One of the key initiatives that have been launched under the Modi government is the Science and Technology of Advanced Research (STAR) Scheme. The aim of this program is to provide institutionalized training to science administrators and leaders in order to improve the effectiveness of their work and ensure that they are able to deliver the best possible outcomes for society. This program is designed to help participants develop a deeper understanding of the various aspects of scientific research, including funding, project management, and commercialization.
