Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is gearing up for a significant day of inaugurations and ceremonies as he visits Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu on January 19. The itinerary is packed with the unveiling of key development projects across these states.
PM in Solapur, Maharashtra:
Commencing the day, at around 10:45 AM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple projects in Solapur, Maharashtra. During a public program, he is slated to lay the foundation stone for eight AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) projects with an estimated value of around Rs. 2,000 crores.
In Maharashtra, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate more than 90,000 completed houses under the PMAY-Urban scheme. A special focus will be on the Raynagar Housing Society in Solapur, where 15,000 houses will be dedicated, benefitting various sections of society, including handloom workers, vendors, power loom workers, rag pickers, Bidi workers, and drivers.
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will initiate the distribution of the 1st and 2nd installments to 10,000 beneficiaries of PM-SVANIDHI during the program, further emphasizing the government’s commitment to supporting small businesses.
PM in Bengaluru, Karnataka:
At around 2:45 PM, Prime Minister Modi will head to Bengaluru, Karnataka, where he will inaugurate the state-of-the-art Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) campus. This campus, built with an investment of Rs. 1,600 crores, represents Boeing’s largest investment outside the USA. It is expected to play a pivotal role in fostering collaboration with India’s startup ecosystem and contributing to aerospace and defense advancements globally.
During this visit, the Prime Minister will launch the Boeing Sukanya Program, designed to encourage more girls to enter India’s aviation sector. The program will provide critical skills training in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) fields, aiming to bridge gender gaps in aviation careers.
PM at Khelo India Youth Games 2023 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu:
Concluding the day’s events, at around 6 PM, Prime Minister Modi will participate in the opening ceremony of the 6th Khelo India Youth Games 2023 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. As the Chief Guest, he will witness the launch of the games, which are being held in South India for the first time.
The Khelo India Youth Games will be spread across four cities in Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, and Coimbatore. The mascot, Veera Mangai, symbolizing the strength and valor of Indian women, reflects the spirit of these games. With over 5600 athletes participating in 26 sporting disciplines, including traditional sports, the event promises to be a celebration of talent and diversity.
During the inaugural ceremony, Prime Minister Modi will also mark the launch and foundation stone laying of projects worth about Rs 250 crore in the broadcasting sector. This includes the revamped DD Podhigai channel as DD Tamil, 12 Akashvani FM projects in 8 States, and 4 DD transmitters in Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, the foundation stone will be laid for 26 new FM transmitter projects in 12 States.
