In a scheduled tour marked by key engagements, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will embark on a significant visit to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on 18th and 19th June 2024. This visit underscores his administration’s commitment to various developmental initiatives and cultural heritage across the region.
Day 1: 18th June, Uttar Pradesh
The Prime Minister’s itinerary begins in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, where at approximately 5 PM, he will participate in the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan. This event holds particular significance as it marks the release of the 17th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), benefiting over 9.26 crore farmers with an allocation exceeding Rs. 20,000 crores through Direct Benefit Transfer. Moreover, Prime Minister Modi will also honor over 30,000 women from Self Help Groups (SHGs) as Krishi Sakhis, highlighting the transformative Krishi Sakhi Convergence Program (KSCP).
Following this, at around 7 PM, the Prime Minister will partake in the sacred Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, symbolizing the cultural and spiritual essence of Varanasi. Later, around 8 PM, he will perform pooja and darshan at the revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple, reinforcing his personal and governmental commitment to the spiritual heritage of the region.
Day 2: 19th June, Bihar
On the second day of his visit, Prime Minister Modi will journey to Bihar, starting with a visit to the Ruins of Nalanda at approximately 9:45 AM. Nalanda holds immense historical significance as one of the oldest universities globally and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2016.
Subsequently, at around 10:30 AM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new campus of Nalanda University in Rajgir. This state-of-the-art campus stands as a testament to India’s commitment to educational excellence and international collaboration, envisioned in partnership with East Asia Summit (EAS) countries. The inauguration ceremony will witness the participation of eminent dignitaries, including the Heads of Missions of 17 countries, emphasizing its global importance.
The campus itself boasts impressive infrastructure, featuring two academic blocks, spacious auditoriums, student hostels, an International Centre, and a Net Zero Green Campus initiative. With facilities like solar power plants, water treatment, and recycling plants, and extensive water bodies, the campus exemplifies sustainability and modernity while honoring its ancient roots.
