Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s commitment to India’s growth and progress is once again in the spotlight as he prepares for a significant visit to two vibrant states – Chhattisgarh and Telangana. Scheduled for October 3, 2023, this visit promises to be a momentous occasion as it involves the inauguration and foundation stone laying of numerous development projects that will have a far-reaching impact on the regions.
Prime Minister in Chhattisgarh
The itinerary for Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Chhattisgarh includes a series of events aimed at bolstering the state’s infrastructure and economic development.
“One of the highlights of the visit is the dedication to the nation of NMDC Steel Ltd’s Steel Plant at Nagarnar in Bastar district. With a project cost exceeding Rs 23,800 crore, this greenfield initiative is expected to produce high-quality steel. Beyond its direct economic benefits, the steel plant is poised to generate employment opportunities, both within the plant and in ancillary and downstream industries”. This venture will not only place Bastar on the global steel map but also fuel the socioeconomic development of the region.
In line with the Prime Minister’s vision to enhance rail infrastructure across the nation, the visit will encompass the laying of foundation stones and dedication to the nation of multiple rail projects. These projects include the inauguration of a new rail line connecting Antagarh and Taroki, and the commencement of a rail line doubling project between Jagdalpur and Dantewara. Additionally, the foundation stone will be laid for the Boridand-Surajpur rail line doubling project and the redevelopment of Jagdalpur Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Prime Minister Modi will also flag off the Taroki – Raipur DEMU Train Service. These rail projects are expected to improve connectivity in tribal regions and contribute to local economic development.
In addition to rail projects, the Prime Minister will dedicate a road upgrade project from ‘Kunkuri to Chhattisgarh – Jharkhand Border section’ of National Highway-43. This new road will enhance road connectivity, benefiting the local population.
Prime Minister in Telangana
In Telangana, Prime Minister Modi’s visit will mark the inauguration of several projects aimed at enhancing power generation, improving rail infrastructure, and augmenting healthcare facilities.
Firstly, the Prime Minister will dedicate the first 800 MW Unit of Phase 1 of the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project of NTPC to the nation. This milestone is expected to provide cost-effective power to Telangana, fostering economic growth while maintaining environmental compliance standards.
The rail infrastructure in Telangana will receive a substantial boost with the inauguration of the new Railway Line connecting Manoharabad and Siddipet, along with the electrification project between Dharmabad – Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar – Kurnool. These projects are poised to improve the region’s socio-economic development and enhance rail transport efficiency. Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi will flag off the Siddipet – Secunderabad – Siddipet train service, providing a convenient commuting option for locals.
“In a move to bolster healthcare infrastructure in Telangana, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for 20 Critical Care Blocks (CCBs) across the state under the Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission. These CCBs will be established in various districts, contributing to critical care infrastructure and healthcare accessibility for the people of Telangana”.
