PM Narendra Modi’s Mumbai Visit: Key Projects and Inaugurations

PM Narendra Modi is set to embark on a significant visit to Mumbai, Maharashtra, on July 13th, 2024. The visit is marked by the inauguration and dedication of several crucial infrastructure projects across the city, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and economic growth in the region.

PM Narendra Modi: Launch of Infrastructure Projects:

At approximately 5:30 PM, PM Narendra Modi will arrive at the NESCO Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai, to launch and dedicate multiple projects in the road, railways, and ports sectors, valued at over Rs. 29,400 crore. These initiatives are poised to significantly bolster the city’s infrastructure and contribute to its development trajectory.

Foundation Stones for Key Projects:

Among the notable projects, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Thane Borivali Tunnel Project, a monumental initiative worth Rs. 16,600 crore. This tunnel, spanning 11.8 kilometers beneath the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, will streamline travel between Thane and Borivali, reducing commute times and enhancing connectivity across Mumbai’s suburbs.

Enhancing Transport and Connectivity:

Additionally, the PM Narendra Modi will initiate the Goregaon Mulund Link Road (GMLR) Project, valued at over Rs. 6,300 crore. The GMLR aims to connect Western and Eastern Express Highways, facilitating smoother access to the proposed new airport at Navi Mumbai and the Pune Mumbai Expressway, thereby fostering regional integration and economic growth.

Railway Infrastructure Upgrades:

Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the Kalyan Yard Remodelling and the Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal at Turbhe, Navi Mumbai. These projects are pivotal in modernizing railway infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency, and creating employment opportunities in the region.

Inauguration of INS Towers:

At around 7 PM, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) Secretariat at Bandra Kurla Complex to inaugurate the INS Towers. This state-of-the-art facility will serve as a central hub for Mumbai’s newspaper industry, providing modern amenities and space tailored to meet the evolving needs of INS members.
