On the last day of her visit to New Zealand, President Droupadi Murmu addressed the Indian community in Auckland at a reception hosted by the High Commission of India. Minister of State Shri George Kurian and Members of Parliament Shri Saumitra Khan and Shri Jugal Kishore were present.

In response to a long-standing demand, President Murmu announced the opening of a new Indian Consulate in Auckland. This move aims to further strengthen diplomatic ties and support the Indian diaspora. She expressed confidence in the Consulate’s role in enhancing bilateral relations.
