Delhi: Probationers from the Indian Audit & Accounts Service, Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes), and Indian Statistical Service gathered at Rashtrapati Bhavan as they called on President Droupadi Murmu on December 26, 2023. In her address, President Murmu emphasized the vital role these officers will play in contributing to India’s development journey through innovative, citizen-centric governance.
President Murmu underscored the impact of their decisions on citizens’ lives, urging them to uphold integrity, hard work, and sincerity. Addressing the Indian Audit & Accounts Service officers, she emphasized their role as custodians of public trust and guardians of financial prudence, stressing the values of truth, transparency, and fairness in decision-making.
“For officers of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes), the President highlighted the significance of efficient administration and tax collection. She encouraged them to stay updated on advancements across various fields and collaborate with officers from different services and departments”.
“Addressing the Indian Statistical Service officers, President Murmu emphasized the critical role of accurate statistics in policy formulation and program analysis. She urged ISS officers to employ the latest techniques, including Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Data Science, for compiling official statistics and conducting survey operations in alignment with international standards”.
