President Droupadi Murmu inaugurates New Tourist Marvels at Rashtrapati Nilayam

Hyderabad: Today, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated a range of captivating tourist attractions at Rashtrapati Nilayam, offering visitors an enhanced experience and insights into the historical and cultural significance of the region.

The newly unveiled attractions include:

  • Historic Flag Post Replica: A towering 36-meter (120 ft) teak wood Flag Post, replicating the one that marked the integration of Hyderabad state into the Indian Union in 1948.
  • Maze Garden and Children’s Park: The Maze Garden, features the Murraya Exotica, and a Children’s Park designed to engage and entertain younger visitors.
  • Restored Step Wells and Traditional Irrigation System: The restoration of three-step wells, aimed at capturing rainwater annually to enhance water security and local resource sustainability. The traditional irrigation system showcases the heritage of the region.
  • Shiva and Nandi Sculptures: A captivating ensemble featuring Dakshinamurthy Shiva seated under a banyan tree facing South, accompanied by the Nandi Bull on a rock.
  • Knowledge Gallery Additions: Two new enclaves in the Knowledge Gallery, offer information about the unification of Hyderabad and insights into Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Presidents of India.

The rock paintings outside the Knowledge Gallery depict various aspects of “Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat,” showcasing scientific and defense achievements, heritage, monuments, and art forms.

Rashtrapati Nilayam, open to the general public throughout the year (except during the President’s southern sojourn), invites visitors to explore these attractions six days a week from 10:00 am to 05:00 pm, with the last entry at 04:00 pm.
