Odisha: President Droupadi Murmu recently visited the Santha Kabi Bhima Bhoi Abirbhaba Pitha in Rairakhol, Sambalpur district of Odisha, to pay homage to the revered poet and philosopher, Santha Bhima Bhoi. Known for his profound poetry and advocacy for social equality, Bhima Bhoi’s legacy continues to inspire generations.
During her visit, the President laid wreaths at the statue of Santha Kabi Bhima Bhoi, reflecting on his invaluable contributions to literature and society. She highlighted Bhima Bhoi’s remarkable ability to create profound literature despite lacking formal education, underscoring his unique insight and timeless verses that resonate even today.
President Murmu emphasized that Santha Kabi Bhima Bhoi’s works epitomize social equality and universal ideals, urging the youth to embrace his teachings. She lauded Bhima Bhoi’s dedication to the Mahima Cult, which advocated for equality irrespective of caste, attracting followers from diverse backgrounds.
