On the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day, President Droupadi Murmu presided over the National Energy Conservation Awards 2023 and National Painting Competition prizes in New Delhi on December 14, 2023. India’s significant climb from 30th to 7th place in the Climate Change Performance Index over ten years attests to the nation’s dedication to environmental causes.

The President highlighted initiatives like the ‘Green Energy Open Access Rules, 2022,’ renewable purchase obligations, and the recently introduced “Green credit” under the ‘LiFE’ (Lifestyle for Environment) concept.
