President Droupadi Murmu To Present Digital India Awards 2022 On 7 January.

New Delhi: The President of India Droupadi Murmu will give away the Digital India Awards 2022 to the winners on 7th January 2023.

The Government of India has envisioned the Digital India program to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The Digital India Awards encourage and recognize innovative digital initiatives by government entities at all levels. DIA 2022 aims to inspire and motivate not only government entities but start-ups and grassroots digital initiatives to fulfill the Digital India vision.

Shri Ashwini Vaishnav, the Minister for Electronics & Information Technology, Communications and Railways, Shri Alkesh Kumar Sharma, the Secretary for the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and other dignitaries will attend the event at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

The event will begin on January 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. and will be broadcast live on Doordarshan and streamed live on NIC Social media platforms- YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Webcast.

The Digital India Awards are instituted under the aegis of the National Portal of India (https://india.gov.in), which provides single-window access to information and services being offered by Indian government entities at all levels. The National Informatics Centre (NIC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and Government of India designed, developed, and maintains the National Portal.

Nomination of digital initiatives for the Digital India Awards is done by Government entities through the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal (https://awards.gov.in) which is managed by the Director General, Awards at the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Hon’ble Prime Minister has directed the development and operationalization of a unified portal for managing all National Awards.

This is followed by a ranking of entries by the Nomination Processing Partner, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, and the selection of winners by a jury constituted under the Chaired by Secretary, MeitY, and with representation from Government, Industry, and Academia.
