The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, graced the 20th convocation of Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) in Surat, underscoring the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in her address to the gathering.

Encouraging students to utilize science as a guiding force for their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and innovative thinking, President Murmu urged them to not only meet international standards but also set new benchmarks in innovation, efficiency, and inclusivity. She emphasized the importance of utilizing knowledge, alumni networks, and technical skills to create new businesses and employment opportunities.
President Murmu advised students to establish ideals for their future endeavors, ensuring clarity in decision-making. She emphasized the significance of staying connected to one’s roots, asserting that this connection would not only propel them forward but also imbue their lives with meaning and purpose.
Expressing her delight at the increasing representation of female students in engineering colleges and institutes, President Murmu applauded their commitment to pursuing careers in science and technology. She urged all National Institutes of Technology (NITs) to organize programs and campaigns aimed at encouraging more girls to enroll in engineering and technology institutes, thereby promoting gender diversity in these fields.
