President Droupadi Murmu graced the Global Spirituality Mahotsav in Hyderabad, delivering a message of unity and peace amidst diversity. Embracing the theme ‘From Inner Peace to World Peace,’ she highlighted the imperative of harmony in today’s interconnected world.
Addressing the audience, President Murmu underscored the event’s noble objective of fostering understanding and cooperation among followers of diverse religions. She emphasized that mutual respect and collaboration among faiths are indispensable for achieving lasting global peace.
“Drawing from India’s rich spiritual heritage, the President emphasized the ethos of inclusivity embedded in the concept of “world as a family.” She stressed the importance of embracing diversity and recognizing the inherent unity underlying all paths to truth”.
President Murmu lauded the moral and spiritual principles that have guided Indian society for centuries. Encouraging individuals to align their actions with these timeless ideals, she asserted that a life rooted in spirituality leads to personal fulfillment and societal well-being.
Reflecting on India’s spiritual luminaries, from Mahavir and Buddha to Gandhi and Vivekananda, the President highlighted their enduring contributions to global spirituality. She commended Mahatma Gandhi for integrating spiritual values into politics, earning him the moniker ‘Sant of Sabarmati.’
