President Murmu Inaugurates Udyan Utsav – I, 2024: A Spectacle of Nature and Heritage

In a grand inauguration, the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, graced Udyan Utsav – I, 2024, marking the commencement of a captivating journey through nature and heritage at Amrit Udyan. Open to the public from February 2 to March 31, the event promises an enchanting experience with a myriad of attractions and activities.

Amrit Udyan, the centerpiece of Udyan Utsav, will welcome visitors on specific days, offering a unique experience for different categories of guests. Special days include February 22 for differently-abled and visually challenged individuals, February 23 for personnel of defense, paramilitary, and police forces, March 1 for women, tribals, and women self-help groups, and March 5 for children of orphanages.

Booking slots for the Udyan Utsav can be secured online at https://visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in or through Self Service Kiosks located outside Gate No. 35. Entry and exit for all visitors will be from Gate No. 35 of the President’s Estate, conveniently served by a shuttle bus service from Central Secretariat Metro Station, available every 30 minutes between 9.30 am to 5.00 pm.

Visitors are encouraged to bring mobile phones, electronic keys, purses/handbags, water bottles, and milk bottles for infants. The public route will feature provisions for drinking water, toilets, and first aid/medical facilities.

The Udyan Utsav tour promises a visual treat, guiding visitors through various points of attraction, including a 225-year-old Sheesham tree, Bal Vatika with a tree-house and nature’s classroom for children, a stunning Theme Garden boasting 42,000 Tulips of 18 varieties, and the artistic Amrit Udyan Signature providing a picturesque selfie point.

The tour continues through the Floral Clock, Bonsai Garden with over 300 decades-old specimens, Musical Fountains synchronized to classical Indian music, Central Lawn showcasing rare and exotic flowers, and various other gardens like Long Garden, Circular Garden, Vertical Garden, Tray Garden, Gardens in Wheelbarrows, Zen Garden, and Majestic Banyans.

A food court, featuring stalls by TRIFED, ITDC, and others, adds a culinary dimension to the Udyan Utsav experience.

Beyond Amrit Udyan, visitors can explore Rashtrapati Bhavan and Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum six days a week, witnessing the Change-of-Guard Ceremony on Saturdays (except Gazetted Holidays). Further details and arrangements can be accessed at https://visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in.
