President Murmu will visit Jharkhand and Odisha

President Murmu is set to undertake an official visit to Jharkhand and Odisha from February 28th to March 2nd, 2024, marking a significant engagement with the diverse cultures and communities of the region.

On February 28th, President Murmu will commence her visit by gracing the 3rd convocation of the Central University of Jharkhand in Ranchi. Concurrently, she will lay the foundation stone for the Central Government Holiday Home at Rairangpur, Odisha, and virtually inaugurate various road projects and a Sports Complex at the same location. Additionally, the President will inaugurate the Eklavya Model Residential School in Barsahi.

Continuing her engagements on February 29th, President Murmu will interact with members of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) at Kadalibadi village in Gonasika, Keonjhar. Subsequently, she will inaugurate a national seminar focusing on the tribes of Keonjhar, their culture, and heritage, and address students at Dharanidhar University’s North Campus in Gambharia, Keonjhar. Later in the day, she will grace the 53rd convocation of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar.

March 1st will witness President Murmu’s presence at the 25th convocation of Berhampur University at Bhanja Bihar, followed by her participation in the golden jubilee celebration of Brahma Kumaris in Cuttack. Additionally, she will attend the presentation of PM JANMAN by the Government of Odisha at Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.

Concluding her visit on March 2nd, President Murmu will visit various sites associated with Santha Kabi Bhima Bhoi in Sambalpur district, Odisha, and meet followers of the Mahima Cult at the Mini Stadium in Sambalpur, further strengthening ties with the cultural and spiritual heritage of the region.

President Smt. Droupadi Murmu’s visit underscores the importance of engaging with diverse communities, fostering cultural exchange, and promoting development initiatives aimed at uplifting marginalized groups across Jharkhand and Odisha.
