President Extends Congratulations to Newly Elected Members of 18th Lok Sabha

Newly Elected Members of 18th Lok Sabha: President of India, Draupadi Murmu, addressed the Honourable Members of the 18th Lok Sabha, extending heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all Newly Elected Members of the 18th Lok Sabha. She commended their success in earning the trust of voters nationwide, stressing the honor and responsibility of serving the country and its people.

Expressing confidence in their commitment to placing the nation first, President Murmu emphasized their role in realizing the aspirations of India’s 1.4 billion citizens. She specially acknowledged Shri Om Birla ji, wishing him success as the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, citing his extensive public service experience and leadership skills in upholding democratic traditions.

President Murmu also conveyed gratitude on behalf of millions to the Election Commission of India for conducting the world’s largest election with nearly 640 million enthusiastic voters. She highlighted significant voter participation, particularly noting the unprecedented turnout in the Kashmir Valley, breaking decades-old records despite challenges.

Reflecting on the global significance of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, President Murmu underscored India’s achievement of a stable majority government for the third consecutive term after six decades. She emphasized the electorate’s trust in her government’s policies, integrity, and commitment to development, affirming faith in India’s progress towards security, prosperity, and good governance.

President Murmu hailed the 2024 election as a mandate for continuing India’s journey towards development and fulfilling national goals under the banner of service and effective governance.
