President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, Inaugurates Visitor Facilitation Centre at Rashtrapati Nilayam

Today, on March 6, 2024, the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, virtually inaugurated the Visitor Facilitation Centre (VFC) at Rashtrapati Nilayam. In her address, the President highlighted the array of historical attractions housed within Rashtrapati Nilayam, such as the towering 120-foot replica of the historic wooden flagpost, the Jai Hind stepwell, the maze garden, the children’s park, and the divine Shiva and Nandi bull sculptures in the rock garden. She emphasized that these landmarks offer visitors an immersive experience of the cultural richness of our nation.

The establishment of the VFC marks a significant milestone in connecting people with the heritage of our country, according to the President. She expressed confidence that the VFC will enhance the visitor experience by providing a comprehensive facility for all visitors under one roof.

President Murmu articulated the underlying objective of developing these attractions as nurturing a community of young, enthusiastic change-makers who will carry forward the rich legacy of our nation. She urged young people to seize the opportunity to explore and understand the history of our nation, while also emphasizing the importance of unity and development.

Dignitaries present at the inauguration included the Governor of Telangana, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, and the Minister of Transport, Government of Telangana, Shri Ponnam Prabhakar, along with officials from the President’s Secretariat and NIC.
