Prime Minister Modi Inaugurates Multi-Billion Development Projects in Varanasi

Varanasi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has once again demonstrated his commitment to the transformation of Varanasi, inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for a plethora of development projects collectively valued at over Rs 13,000 crore. Today’s initiatives encompass crucial sectors including transportation, tourism, education, healthcare, sanitation, and more, promising to usher in a new era of progress and prosperity for the region.

In a significant visit to Varanasi, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Banas Kashi Sankul, a milk processing unit established by the Banaskantha District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Ltd at UPSIDA Agro Park in Karkhiyaon. Interacting with beneficiaries, particularly cow owners, the Prime Minister handed out employment letters and GI-authorized user certificates, underscoring the government’s commitment to uplifting rural livelihoods.

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to once again be in Kashi, a city he holds dear to his heart, having been elected as its Parliamentarian a decade ago. He credited the people of Kashi for their unwavering support and acknowledged the pivotal role they’ve played in his own transformation into a “Banarasi.” Prime Minister Modi emphasized that today’s development projects, surpassing the Rs 13,000 crore mark, mark a significant stride towards realizing the vision of a ‘New Kashi.’

These projects, spanning a diverse range of sectors such as transportation, infrastructure, animal husbandry, industry, sports, and tourism, are not only poised to elevate the stature of Kashi but also catalyze development across the Purvanchal region. Prime Minister Modi underscored their potential to generate employment opportunities and foster economic growth, while also lauding initiatives related to Sant Ravidas Ji, a revered figure in the region.

Reflecting on his recent journey through Varanasi, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the transformative impact of projects like the Phulwaria flyover, enhancing connectivity and facilitating smoother travel experiences. He underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to bolstering infrastructure and creating an enabling environment for the youth to thrive, citing initiatives like the Sigra Sports Stadium Phase-1 and District Rifle Shooting Range as testimony to this commitment.

Prime Minister Modi also commended the strides made in the dairy sector, particularly through endeavors like Banas Dairy, which not only generate employment but also empower women in agriculture. He cited the success story of indigenous Gir Gai breeds, symbolizing the potential for grassroots empowerment and rural prosperity. The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s focus on leveraging animal husbandry to uplift small farmers and landless laborers, while also stressing the importance of initiatives like Gobar Dhan in promoting sustainable agriculture practices.
