Prime Minister Modi touched down in Doha for his much-anticipated official visit to Qatar, marking his second trip to the country since June 2016. He was warmly received by H.E. Mr. Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, upon his arrival at the airport.
During his two-day visit, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to attend a dinner hosted in his honor by Qatar’s Prime Minister, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, on the first day. Subsequently, on February 15th, PM Modi will meet with the Amir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for discussions covering a wide array of bilateral, regional, and global issues.
Expressing his anticipation for the visit, Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter, stating, “Landed in Doha. Eagerly anticipating a productive visit to Qatar, aimed at further enhancing the enduring friendship between India and Qatar.”
The visit underscores India’s commitment to strengthening ties with Qatar across various sectors, including trade, investment, energy, and defense. It is expected to pave the way for enhanced cooperation and collaboration between the two nations, contributing to regional stability and prosperity.
