The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone of various developmental projects worth over Rs 1,06,000 crores at the Dedicated Freight Corridor’s Operation Control Centre in Ahmedabad, Gujarat today. The developmental projects encompass various sectors such as railway infrastructure, connectivity, and petrochemicals. Additionally, he flagged off 10 new Vande Bharat trains.
Addressing the occasion, the Prime Minister acknowledged the extensive participation of people from over 200 different places and emphasized the unprecedented scale of today’s event in Railway history. He congratulated the Railways for the achievements of the day and highlighted the ongoing expansion of developmental works aimed at creating a developed India. The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of recent inaugurations and foundation stone laying ceremonies, noting that projects worth more than Rs 11 lakh crores have been initiated in the first 75 days of 2024, with an additional Rs 7 lakh crores unveiled in the last 10-12 days.
Underlining the importance of these projects in the journey towards Viksit Bharat, the Prime Minister detailed various initiatives, including the inauguration of railway projects worth around Rs 85,000 crores, the foundation stone laying of a Petrochemicals complex, and the establishment of Ekta Malls in Maharashtra and Gujarat. He reiterated the government’s commitment to empowering India’s youth and strengthening the nation’s infrastructure.
“Reflecting on the transformation of Indian Railways, the Prime Minister highlighted the significant strides made in the sector since 2014, including the integration of the Railway Budget into the General Budget and the enhancement of railway connectivity across the country. He assured the nation of continued efforts to modernize railways, expand infrastructure, and create new employment opportunities”.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal Policy and outlined various modernization initiatives, including the abolition of unmanned crossings and the transition to 100 percent electrification. He underscored the role of Made in India initiatives in creating a robust ecosystem for railway manufacturing and export.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to nation-building through development projects, urging citizens to participate in the celebration of progress. Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, and Union Minister for Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaisnaw, were among those present at the event.
