Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Visit to Chittorgarh and Gwalior on October 2nd

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is poised to embark on a significant visit to Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh on October 2, 2023. Beginning at approximately 10:45 AM, he will dedicate a slew of development projects valued at around Rs 7,000 crore in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. These initiatives encompass diverse sectors, with a strong emphasis on promoting a gas-based economy, enhancing transportation infrastructure, and boosting tourism.

Driving the Gas-Based Economy

In a resolute move to bolster the gas-based economy, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Mehsana-Bhatinda-Gurdaspur Gas Pipeline, an infrastructure investment totaling about Rs. 4,500 crores. Additionally, he will dedicate the LPG Plant of HPCL at Abu Road, a facility capable of bottling and distributing 86 lakh cylinders annually. This initiative is expected to reduce carbon emissions by around 0.5 million tons per annum, alongside a reduction in truck travel of about 0.75 million Km. Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate additional storage facilities at the Ajmer Bottling Plant, IOCL.

Strengthening Transportation and Rail Infrastructure

Prime Minister Modi will dedicate a four-lane road on NH-12 (New NH-52) on the Darah-Jhalawar-Teendhar section, a project costing more than Rs 1480 crores. This development is poised to streamline the transportation of mined produce from the Kota and Jhalawar districts, contributing to economic growth. Furthermore, he will lay the foundation stone for the expansion of the Railway Over Bridge (ROB) in Sawai Madhopur from two lanes to four lanes, alleviating traffic congestion.

Boosting Rail Connectivity and Tourism

The Prime Minister will unveil railway projects geared towards enhancing connectivity and tourism in Rajasthan, including the doubling of the Chittorgarh-Neemuch Railway line and the electrification of the Kota-Chittorgarh Railway line. These projects, completed at a cost exceeding Rs 650 crores, are set to bolster rail infrastructure and promote tourism at historical sites in the region.

Nathdwara’s Touristic Transformation

In Nathdwara, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate tourism facilities developed under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme. Nathdwara, a significant center of faith for followers of the Pushtimarg propagated by Saint Vallabhacharya, will feature a modern ‘tourist interpretation and cultural center’ that offers insights into the life of Shrinathji. Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kota.

PM’s Agenda in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh

Arriving in Gwalior around 3:30 PM, Prime Minister Modi will unveil and lay the foundation stones for multiple development initiatives valued at approximately Rs 19,260 crores. These initiatives encompass a wide array of sectors, including infrastructure, housing, healthcare, and water supply.

Enhancing Connectivity

In line with the government’s commitment to improving connectivity, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway, a major infrastructure project developed at a cost of about Rs. 11,895 crores. He will also lay the foundation stones for five distinct road projects valued at over Rs. 1880 crores.

Affordable Housing and Safe Drinking Water

Prime Minister Modi will initiate the Grih Pravesh of over 2.2 lakh houses built under PMAY-Gramin, supporting the vision of providing affordable housing for all. Additionally, he will dedicate houses constructed under PMAY-Urban, with a cumulative value of around Rs 140 crores. Furthermore, he will lay the foundation stones for Jal Jeevan Mission projects exceeding Rs 1530 crores in Gwalior and Sheopur districts, benefiting over 720 villages in the region.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit underscores the government’s commitment to accelerating development and improving the lives of citizens across Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh through a diverse range of transformative projects.
