Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi paid a visit to the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi to experience the exhibition titled ‘Jana Shakti: A Collective Power.’ This exhibition commemorates the 100th episode of the Prime Minister’s popular radio program, Mann ki Baat. It showcases the artistic diversity of India, drawing inspiration from the themes emphasized in Mann ki Baat.
During his visit, the Prime Minister embarked on a special walkthrough of the exhibition, where the artists had the opportunity to explain their artworks and the themes from Mann ki Baat that influenced their creations. Additionally, he witnessed an immersive projection show of the Jana Shakti exhibition within the historic dome of the Jaipur House. Following the art tour, the Prime Minister signed the Jana Shakti Exhibition catalogue and left a message, “Mann Mandir ki Yatra Sukhad ho..” The catalogue had already been pre-signed by the thirteen participating artists.
Thirteen acclaimed modern and contemporary artists employed various mediums to express themselves and present artistic interpretations of the Prime Minister’s messages on twelve themes. These themes encompassed topics such as Water Conservation, Nari Shakti, Covid Awareness, Swachh Bharat, Environment & Climate Change, Indian Agriculture, Yoga & Ayurveda, Indian Science & Space, Sports & Fitness, India @ 75 & Amrit Kaal, Celebrating North-East India, and India & the World.
The exhibition showcases artworks by renowned artists including Smt. Madhavi Parekh, Shri Manu Parekh, Shri Atul Dodiya, Shri Riyas Komu, Shri G.R Iranna, Shri Ashim Purkayastha, Shri Jiten Thukral & Shri Sumir Tagra, Shri Paresh Maity, Shri Pratul Dash, Shri Jagannath Panda, Shri Manjunath Kamath, and Ms. Vibha Galhotra.
The event witnessed the presence of Shri Govind Mohan, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture; Smt. Kiran Nadar, Founder of the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art; Dr. Alka Pande, Curator of the exhibition, along with other officials and staff from the Ministry of Culture and National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi.
