In 1969, Prithviraj Kapoor was honored with the Padma Bhushan, a prestigious civilian award in India. Additionally, in 1972, he was posthumously bestowed with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, a recognition of his significant contributions to Indian cinema. In 1996, commemorating the golden jubilee of the theatre, the Indian Post issued a two-rupee commemorative postage stamp in memory of Prithviraj Kapoor.
