Probationary Officers Of India’s Revenue And Accounts Services With Meets President.

On the 3rd of January The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, addressed probationary officers of various Accounts Services including Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes), Indian Civil Accounts Service, Indian Defence Accounts Service, Indian Railway Accounts Service, and Indian Post & Telecommunication (Finance & Accounts) Service at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.

The President emphasized on the growing role of Revenue Service and Accounts Services in the government’s pursuit of efficient, accountable, and transparent administration and seamless service delivery. She highlighted the importance of their role in ensuring tax compliance, sound financial management, and the use of technology for modernization.

The President addressed the officers of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes) and highlighted their critical role in collecting and administering indirect taxes and acting as guardians of the country’s economic frontiers. She urged them to remember that taxation is not just a means of raising government revenue, but also a crucial component of economic and social development.

The President emphasized the significance of accounting in enforcing accountability in governance and stressed the role of officers of the Indian Civil, Defence, Railway, and Post & Telecommunication Accounts Services in building and maintaining a robust financial management system.

She also talked about the rising expectations of the people for efficient and transparent service delivery and the need for departments to modernize their systems using information and communication technology. The President urged all officers to discharge their duties with integrity and commitment and contribute towards nation-building.

The President acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the probationary officers and encouraged them to continue their efforts in ensuring the country’s financial stability and economic growth. She emphasized the importance of staying updated with the latest knowledge and skills in their respective fields and encouraged them to continuously strive for excellence.

The President also spoke about the significance of maintaining ethical standards in the discharge of their duties. She said that being in a position of trust and responsibility, it is of utmost importance for the officers to maintain high ethical standards, avoid conflicts of interest and be transparent in their dealings.

The probationary officers of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes), Indian Civil Accounts Service, Indian Defence Accounts Service, Indian Railway Accounts Service, and Indian Post & Telecommunication (Finance & Accounts) Service left the Rashtrapati Bhavan with a renewed sense of commitment and purpose, eager to carry out their duties with diligence and dedication.
