On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to the immortal soldiers at the Shaheed Smarak located at Gandhi Park, Dehradun. The families of the brave martyrs were also honored in the program organized on this occasion.
Pushkar Singh: Welfare Measures for Martyr Dependents
During the event, the Chief Minister announced several welfare measures for the martyr dependents. The ex-gratia amount given to the martyr dependents was increased from ₹ 10 lakh to ₹ 50 lakh. The application period for government jobs after receiving the Veergati certificate was increased from two years to five years. Additionally, if there is no post in the District Magistrate’s office for the martyr dependents, jobs are provided in other departments. Furthermore, contract workers working in the Sainik Welfare Department were given leave equivalent to Upanal employees.
Commitment to Soldier Welfare
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh emphasized the government’s commitment to the welfare of soldiers and their families. He stated that the government is working on giving reservation in government jobs to Agniveers, and this decision will soon be implemented. The government is dedicated to ensuring that the sacrifices of the soldiers are not forgotten and that their families receive the necessary support.
