Rainfall and Thunderstorms in Western India:
On the 25th and 26th of November, an upper-level trough extending to the East-central Arabian Sea off the Gujarat-Maharashtra-Goa coasts will interact with a lower-level trough in easterlies. This interaction is expected to result in:
- Central India: Anticipate light to moderate rainfall accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and lightning over Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan & Goa, Marathwada, and Madhya Pradesh from the 24th to the 27th of November.
- Gujarat: Rainfall is forecasted on the 25th and 26th, with the peak activity expected on the 26th. Thunderstorms, lightning, and hail may occur at isolated places over south Rajasthan, southwest Madhya Pradesh, north Madhya Maharashtra, and north Marathwada on the 26th of November. Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over southwest Madhya Pradesh, north Madhya Maharashtra, and the Gujarat region on the same day.
Rainfall in Northwest India:
- Western Himalayan Region and Plains of Northwest India: Light rainfall at isolated places is expected from the 26th to the 28th of November.
- Uttarakhand: On the 27th of November, there is a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and hail at isolated places.
Cyclonic Circulation in the Andaman Sea:
Around the 25th of November, a Cyclonic Circulation is likely to emerge over the South Andaman Sea. This is expected to evolve into a Low low-pressure area around the 26th, moving west-northwestwards and intensifying into a Depression over the Southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining Andaman Sea around the 27th of November.
- Andaman & Nicobar Islands: Light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning is likely from the 26th to the 28th of November. Isolated heavy rainfall is also a possibility during this period.
- Squally Weather: Anticipate squally weather with wind speeds reaching 40-45 kmph, gusting to 55 kmph, over the south Andaman Sea on the 26th of November. The intensity increases on the 27th and 28th of November, with wind speeds reaching 45-55 kmph, gusting to 65 kmph, over the south Andaman Sea & adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal.
