Lucknow: Today is definitely a big historical day because today, on 12 January, the birth anniversary of not one but two great men is celebrated. On this day in 1863, Swami Vivekananda was born in Kolkata. Youth Day is being celebrated across the country today in his memory.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi ji was born in Jabalpur on January 12, 1918, and took the Indian knowledge of Yoga and Sadhana to western countries. Both Swami Vivekananda and Maharishi Yogi are considered ‘Cultural Icon’ and ‘Cultural Ambassador’ of India
Rajnath Singh said, “Swami Vivekananda hoisted the flag of ancient Indianness all over the world by giving it a modern base and spreading Indian values and Sanatan Dharma all over the world”.
He said Maharishi Yogi ji was also such a pinnacle of Vedic religion, who not only kept the body of knowledge within himself but also enlightened the world. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi enriched the spiritual Ganges of India since ancient times, just as Gomti enriches the river, Ganga.
He said, “Whenever there is a crisis in front of humanity, whenever society is immersed in the darkness of ignorance, such great personalities have appeared in the society, who have enlightened the society with the light of their knowledge, and given it a new direction”.
Rajnath Singh said, “On one hand, we are seeing that the world is moving forward very fast. The world economy is growing continuously. Prosperity is happening. Productions are increasing. Growth in science and technology is unprecedented. But on the contrary, the world is getting engulfed in depression”.
He said, “In such a situation, I understand, India can once again guide the whole world on the basis of its ancient knowledge, meditation, and penance, and can lead humanity toward a peaceful, happy, and prosperous world”.
He also said, “Maharishi Mahesh Yogi had planted the seed of this idea, which today has become a huge tree and is providing cool shade to the whole world including India. He dedicated his entire life to the fulfillment of the resolution he had taken in his life to revive the Vedas for the benefit of humanity”.
He said, “Maharishi Yogi ji believed that the matter of salvation of Vedas comes when the active force in the world gets frustrated. Since the stronger, the power of knowledge remains, the more active power will be formed. And the more active power is successful, the behavior will be successful”.
Rajnath Singh said, “The biggest gift that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi gave to humanity was Transcendental Meditation. All of you are self-enlightened and have good knowledge about Transcendental Meditation. Regular practice of this meditation presents solutions to one’s problems”. It has been said here that ‘dharayati is dharma, that which is followed is religion’. Fire’s dharma is heat. Burning is its dharma. And society is influenced by the quality of heat. Coolness is the dharma of water, and society is influenced by its quality.
He said, “Spirituality makes us feel the presence of God, and religion teaches us to have love and kindness toward all. That’s why you will see that every religious person is also spiritual, it is not necessary, but every person, who is truly spiritual, will definitely be spiritual. Will also be religious”.
