Know About Veterans Day:-

Veterans Day (originally known as Armistice Day) is a federal holiday in the United States observed on November 11 to honor military veterans of the United States Armed Forces. It coincides with other holidays including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day that are celebrated in other countries to mark the anniversary of the end of World War.

At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the Armistice with Germany went into effect, formally ending the major hostilities of World War I. Major U.S. veteran organizations urged that Armistice Day be renamed Veterans Day in 1954.

Memorial Day, a U.S. public holiday in May, is distinct from Veterans Day. Memorial Day honors those who have died while in military service, while Veterans Day commemorates the service of all U.S. veterans.

Armed Forces Day, which occurs in May, honors those who are currently serving in the U.S. military. U.S. states are increasingly recognizing Women’s Veterans Day to honor women who have served in the military.
