Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh has given the green light to a proposal facilitating resettlement facilities for cadets who are invalidated from military training due to medical reasons attributable to or aggravated by the training process. This significant decision comes as a response to the longstanding demand from cadets and their parents for such opportunities.
Young cadets at military academies undergo rigorous academic and military training every year to be commissioned as officers in the Armed Forces. However, some cadets, approximately 10-20 per annum, are invalidated on medical grounds due to the challenges of military training.
To address this issue and provide support to these cadets, the Raksha Mantri has approved another proposal from the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare. This proposal allows for the extension of benefits from schemes managed by the Directorate General Resettlement. As a result, around 500 cadets who have been boarded out on medical grounds will now have access to these schemes, ensuring better prospects for their future.
Furthermore, this decision sets a precedent for future cadets who may find themselves in similar circumstances. They too will be eligible to avail the same benefits, thereby enhancing opportunities and support for cadets undergoing military training.
Rajnath Singh’s approval of the proposal reflects the government’s commitment to the welfare of Armed Forces personnel, ensuring that those invalidated from military training due to medical reasons receive the necessary assistance and opportunities for a successful transition into civilian life.
