New Delhi: On the 9th of January Rajnath Singh Spoke at the Ambassadors’ Conference in New Delhi.
The Ambassadors’ Roundtable conference for the forthcoming Aero India 2023 was chaired by Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on January 09, 2023. Over 80 countries were represented by their Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Chargé d’affaires, and Defence Attachés at the reach-out event organised by the Department of Defence Production of the Ministry of Defence.
The 14th Aero show – Aero India-2023 – which will be held in Bengaluru, Karnataka between February 13-17, 2023, has been invited by the Raksha Mantri representatives from across the world to attend Asia’s largest. He urged them to encourage their respective defence and aerospace companies to participate in the global event.
The Raksha Mantri described Aero India as a premier global aviation trade fair which, he said, provides an opportunity for the Indian aviation-defence industry, including the aerospace industry, to showcase its products, technologies and solutions to the national decision-makers. The show, lasting five days, will feature a trade exposition with a focus on aerospace and defence, as well as aerial displays by the Indian Air Force. ”
The event will not only witness major entrepreneurs and investors in the defence and aerospace industries, but also prominent defence think tanks and defence-related bodies from across the world.”The aviation industry will benefit greatly from the exchange of information, ideas, and new technological developments at Aero India,” he said.
Shri Rajnath Singh stated that the last edition of Aero India 2021 had witnessed unprecedented attendance of over 600 exhibitors physically and another 108 virtually. Approximately 3,000 Business-2-Business meetings were held at the event which saw 63 countries in attendance.
He elaborated on the success of DefExpo 2022, which witnessed unparalleled participation from 1,340 exhibitors, businesses, investors, start-ups, MSMEs, the Armed Forces, and delegates from several countries.
He asserted that the conclusion of 451 Memoranda of Understanding, Transfer of Technology agreements, product launches and orders to domestic businesses, was worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore. The success of the DefExpo was attested to.
“We remain committed to supporting the partnerships that have been forged thus far and forming new bonds for future growth,” said the Raksha Mantri, who hoped for a larger presence of exhibitors and representatives of friendly countries in Aero India-2023.
Shri Rajnath Singh stated that efforts are being made to enhance India’s manufacturing capabilities, particularly in the emerging areas of drones, cyber-tech, Artificial Intelligence, and radars. In recent years, India has emerged as a leading defence exporter due to the robust defence manufacturing ecosystem that has been created. India’s defence exports have grown eight times over the last five years and now reach over 75 countries.
