Elevating India-Italy Relations

During the first leg of his visit, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh is scheduled to meet with Italian Defence Minister Mr Guido Crisetto in the historic city of Rome. It’s worth noting that the relationship between India and Italy was elevated to a Strategic Partnership in March 2023 during the visit of the Italian Prime Minister to India. The 5th Annual Defence Dialogue with France

In the second and final leg of his tour, Shri Rajnath Singh will conduct the 5th Annual Defence Dialogue with his French counterpart, Minister of Armed Forces Mr Sebastian Lecornu, in the vibrant city of Paris. This dialogue is emblematic of the deep and wide-ranging bilateral defence relationship that India and France share, particularly as they celebrate 25 years of their Strategic Partnership.

Exploring Opportunities for Industrial Cooperation

In both Rome and Paris, the Raksha Mantri will also engage with CEOs and senior representatives of the defence industry. These discussions will revolve around identifying and fostering potential opportunities for industrial cooperation. Such collaborations have the potential to not only enhance technological capabilities but also contribute to the overall growth and strength of the defence sectors in India, Italy, and France.

Strengthening Global Defence Partnerships

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh’s visit underscores India’s commitment to bolstering its strategic defence partnerships on a global scale. These dialogues and interactions reflect the nation’s dedication to achieving stronger defence capabilities, fostering international security, and nurturing industrial collaborations that will contribute to the advancement of the defence sector.
