On June 21, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Integrated Simulator Complex (ISC) ‘Dhruv’ at the Southern Naval Command in Kochi, marking a noteworthy achievement in enhancing the practical training capabilities of the Indian Navy.

Significance of ISC ‘Dhruv’:

The ISC ‘Dhruv’ hosts modern state-of-the-art indigenously-built simulators, which will revolutionize the training process in the Indian Navy. These simulators are designed to provide real-time experience in navigation, fleet operations, and Naval tactics, contributing to the overall preparedness and effectiveness of the Indian Navy.

Modern Simulators for Enhanced Training:

Among the various simulators within the complex, Raksha Mantri visited the Multi-Station Handling Simulator (MSSHS), Air Direction and Helicopter Control Simulator (ADHCS), and the Astronavigation Dome. These simulators offer advanced training opportunities and have been developed by reputed firms in the field.

Indigenously Developed Simulators:

The Ship Handling Simulators, produced by ARI Pvt Ltd, New Delhi, have garnered international recognition and have been exported to 18 countries. The Astronavigation Dome, developed by Infovision Technologies Pvt Ltd, is a pioneering achievement for the Indian Navy.

Additionally, the ISC ‘Dhruv’ also houses other indigenously developed simulators like the Combat Management System and Maritime Domain Awareness Lab, further enhancing the training capabilities of naval personnel.

Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Defence Export Potential:

The ISC ‘Dhruv’ and its advanced simulators embody the spirit of the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, showcasing India’s self-reliance in the defence sector. These technologically advanced simulators not only enhance the training of Indian Navy personnel but also hold immense potential for defence exports, bolstering India’s position in the global market.

Interaction with Development Firms:

Rajnath Singh engaged in discussions with senior representatives from the firms responsible for the development of these simulators. This engagement highlighted the collaborative efforts and expertise that went into creating these cutting-edge training tools.
