A sense of unity and well-being permeated the atmosphere as Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh participated in a Yoga session with the personnel of the Armed Forces and the Indian Coast Guard onboard India’s indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant. The event, held on June 21, 2023, marked the 9th International Day of Yoga. Notable figures such as Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar, Vice Admiral Adhir Arora, Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Rear Admiral J Singh, and over 800 personnel, including 120 Agniveers, joined the session.
The celebration of Yoga on board INS Vikrant symbolized the spirit of unity and wellness that the practice embodies. Yoga, an ancient Indian tradition, has gained global recognition for its numerous physical, mental, and spiritual benefits.
“Amidst the backdrop of a beautiful blue sky and a calming breeze, the deck of INS Vikrant provided a breathtaking setting for the Yoga session. The peaceful environment complemented the practice and highlighted its significance in promoting well-being”.
Expert Yoga instructors guided the participants in various asanas (poses) and breathing exercises. Their expertise ensured that the participants received proper guidance and maximized the benefits of each practice.
Following the Yoga session, “the Raksha Mantri felicitated the yoga instructors and engaged in interactions with the participants. This gesture recognized the instructors’ contributions and provided an opportunity for the Raksha Mantri to connect with the individuals present”.
During his address, “Shri Rajnath Singh expressed his pride in the global celebration of Yoga, acknowledging its recognition and adoption worldwide. He emphasized the multiple benefits Yoga offers to humanity, highlighting India’s efforts in spreading this ancient practice globally”.
The Raksha Mantri appealed to people to incorporate Yoga into their daily routines. He emphasized that Yoga unites the body and mind, connecting individuals with nature and the divine. By embracing Yoga, individuals can achieve spiritual consciousness and experience holistic well-being.
