Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh, during his US tour, visited the William B Morgan Large Cavitation Channel (LCC) at the Naval Surface Warfare Centre in Memphis, Tennessee. The LCC is one of the world’s most advanced water tunnel facilities, crucial for testing submarines, torpedoes, naval surface ships, and propellers.
High-Level Briefing and Demonstration
At the facility, Shri Rajnath Singh, accompanied by key Indian and US officials, was briefed on the LCC’s capabilities and witnessed an actual tunnel experiment. The Raksha Mantri’s visit highlighted India’s focus on advanced naval technologies.
Strengthening India-US Naval Cooperation
During the visit, discussions were held to support the ongoing proposal to establish a similar facility in India, aimed at enhancing indigenous design and development capabilities.

Shri Rajnath Singh was received by the US Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy for Policy and was briefed by senior commanders and technical directors, underscoring the deepening defense cooperation between India and the US.
