Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh is set to inaugurate the newly constructed Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Chennai, a significant enhancement in the Indian Coast Guard’s (ICG) ability to coordinate and respond to maritime emergencies.

The event will also see the launch of the Regional Marine Pollution Response Centre (RMPRC) in Chennai, a pioneering facility focused on managing marine pollution incidents, particularly oil and chemical spills, along India’s coast.

In addition, the Coast Guard Air Enclave (CGAE) in Puducherry will be inaugurated. Equipped with Chetak and Advanced Light Helicopter Squadrons, this facility will significantly bolster maritime security along the Puducherry and South Tamil Nadu coast.
