REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, orchestrated a landmark CSR Symposium at its Corporate Headquarters in Gurugram on December 21, 2023. The event marked the commemoration of the decade-long journey of REC Foundation, the dedicated CSR arm of REC Limited.
A Decade of Social Impact
REC Foundation has been at the forefront of CSR initiatives, channeling its commitment towards projects that significantly impact society. Emphasizing sustainable development goals and national priorities, the foundation has supported over 400 projects spanning Health, Sanitation, Safe Drinking Water, Education and Skill Development, Women Empowerment, and Environmental Sustainability. Notably, it has disbursed more than Rs. 1,300 Cr. and sanctioned over Rs. 2,000 Cr. towards CSR activities.
Leadership and Commitment
The symposium witnessed the presence of CMD, REC Ltd., Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangan, along with directors, independent directors, senior officers, and key stakeholders of REC Foundation. The program delved into the achievements of CSR activities, outlined renewed focus areas, identified challenges in project implementation, and discussed strategies to accelerate CSR programs. The session also featured the screening of a CSR film and a detailed presentation on the REC Foundation.

Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangan, CMD, REC Ltd., expressed gratitude to the CSR committee, particularly independent director Shri Manoj Pandey, Dr. Gambheer Singh, Dr. Durgesh Nandini, and Shri Ajoy Choudhary for spearheading REC’s CSR initiatives. Shri Dewangan emphasized the symposium’s aim to identify key focus areas and welcomed potential partners to join REC’s CSR programs. With a loan book exceeding Rs. 4.74 Lakh Crore, REC continues to be a formidable force contributing to India’s infrastructure growth.
