Sachin Tendulkar Meets President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan

On February 6, 2025, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, accompanied by his family, met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Tendulkar’s wife, Anjali, and daughter, Sara, joined him for the visit.

A Signed Jersey and a Walk in Amrit Udyan

During the visit, Tendulkar presented President Murmu with a signed Indian Test jersey. The President and Tendulkar also toured the Amrit Udyan. For Sachin, a Bharat Ratna recipient, this visit was different as he attended as a guest of the President.

Sharing Wisdom and Anecdotes

Tendulkar participated in an interactive session as part of the Rashtrapati Bhavan Vimarsh Shrinkhala, sharing anecdotes and principles of motivation from his cricketing journey.

He emphasized the importance of teamwork, caring for others, celebrating collective success, hard work, and developing mental and physical toughness. He predicted that future sports stars would emerge from remote and underprivileged areas.

Reflections on Cricket and Motivation

Tendulkar shared anecdotes from his playing days, including his strategies for motivating fellow cricketers like Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh.

He recalled how he would use reverse psychology to get Sehwag to play defensively when needed. He also recounted a conversation with Yuvraj Singh during the 2011 World Cup, where he advised Yuvraj to focus on fielding to regain his confidence.

Tendulkar’s Illustrious Career

Sachin Tendulkar, known as the ‘God of Cricket’, holds numerous records, including the most runs in both Test and ODI cricket, and an unmatched 100 centuries. He was a key member of India’s 2011 Cricket World Cup-winning team. Recently, he was honored with the Col. CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award at the BCCI Awards.
