In a somber turn of events, Nand Kumar Baghel, aged 89 and the father of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, passed away today at 6 am. He had been undergoing treatment at Shri Balaji Hospital in the capital city of Raipur for the past three months.
Dr. Deepak Jaiswal, the Medical Superintendent of Shri Balaji Hospital, confirmed Nand Kumar Baghel’s demise, citing a prolonged illness that left him frail. The family had been by his side during his challenging health battle.
“Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, currently in New Delhi, is expected to return to Raipur via an 11.45 am flight. However, due to family members being away, the last rites will not be conducted immediately. Sources from the family indicate that the final farewell to Nand Kumar Baghel will take place upon their arrival”.
