Economic Secretary to the Treasury, Andrew Griffith, also welcomed Sara to her new post and praised Sir Hector Sants, the outgoing Chair of MaPS, for his successful leadership over a number of years. He emphasized that Sara’s expertise in delivering for the consumer will ensure MaPS is well-geared in the years ahead.

Sara expressed her delight at being appointed as the second Chair of MaPS and acknowledged the contributions of Sir Hector Sants. MaPS is an arms-length body of the DWP and provides free and impartial money guidance and debt advice across the UK. The appointment was made following an open competition regulated by The Office for the Commissioner of Public Appointments and Sara will serve as Chair of MaPS for five years until March 28, 2028.
