Shahid Kapoor, pronounced and born on February 25, 1981, is an Indian actor who appears in Hindi films. He has won several awards, including three Filmfare Awards, for his roles in romantic, action, and thriller films.
Kapoor, the son of actors Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem, trained as a dancer at Shiamak Davar’s academy. He first appeared as a background dancer in a few films of the 1990s and was later featured in music videos and television commercials. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for his leading role in the romantic comedy Ishq Vishk, a sleeper hit that was released in 2003. After starring in Sooraj Barjatya’s top-grossing family drama Vivah (2006), he followed it with roles in several commercial failures.
