Sunil Kapoor, who was born on September 3, 1952, is an Indian actor and comedian who appears in Bollywood films. He has featured in over 600 films, known for his villainous and comic roles in Hindi films. Over 100 films in the 1980s and 1990s featured Kapoor teaming up with actor Asrani and Kader Khan as the comical or evil team. In 2011, he was a contestant on the Indian reality show Bigg Boss.

Early life:

Kapoor was born to a Punjabi family in Delhi. His father’s shop sold clothes in Connaught Place, New Delhi. Sunil Dutt spotted Kapoor after a long struggle in Bollywood while making Rocky launch his son Sanjay Dutt. The movie’s producers cast him as the antagonist. However, Dutt felt that his name “Sunil Kapoor” would not be appropriate for his villainous role and thus “Shakti Kapoor” was created.
