Shivraj Singh Chouhan officially assumed his role as the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. Addressing the media on this significant occasion, Shri Chouhan expressed his satisfaction with the Prime Minister’s inaugural decision, which strongly favors farmers’ interests. Emphasizing the government’s commitment, he reiterated the Prime Minister’s resolve to double farmers’ incomes, promising that the Ministry would take all necessary measures to ensure the welfare of farmers.
Reflecting on the NDA government’s decade-long dedication to farmers’ welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan assured continued efforts to achieve the set goals. Following his assumption of charge, the Minister toured various offices within the Ministry, engaging with staff at different levels, including cleanliness workers. He encouraged a collaborative team spirit to fulfill the government’s vision for farmers’ welfare.
During his visit to the Krishi integrated command and control center, Shri Chouhan reviewed the facilities that monitor the nation’s agricultural scenario, including crop production and drought preparedness. This visit underscored the Ministry’s commitment to utilizing technology for better agricultural outcomes.
Later, in a meeting with senior officials, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan stressed the importance of transparency in the Ministry’s operations. He distributed the government’s manifesto focused on farmers’ welfare and rural development, urging everyone to work diligently towards these objectives. Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a visionary leader, Shri Chouhan called for a strategic roadmap to accomplish the manifesto’s goals, with a mission to improve the lives of the “Annadata” or food providers.
Joining Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the Ministry were Shri Ramnath Thakur and Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, who took charge as Ministers of State. The Hon’ble Ministers were warmly received by Shri Manoj Ahuja, Secretary of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Himanshu Pathak, Secretary of DARE, and other senior officials, marking a collaborative beginning for the Ministry’s new leadership team.
This transition marks a renewed commitment to advancing farmers’ welfare, with a clear focus on transparency, teamwork, and strategic action to uplift the agricultural sector.
