Trinamool Congress MP Shatrughan Sinha secured victory in the Asansol constituency of West Bengal during the recent Lok Sabha Elections. Celebrating her father’s political triumph, actress Sonakshi Sinha expressed gratitude to the people of Asansol on her Instagram story.
“Thank you to the people of Asansol,” Sonakshi Sinha wrote.
Sinha’s main opponent for the seat was former Union minister and BJP candidate Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia. Sinha clinched victory with a significant margin of 59,564 votes.
The Asansol constituency conducted its voting in Phase 4 of the 2024 Lok Sabha election on May 13, 2024. Sinha’s win reflects the support and confidence placed in him by the electorate of Asansol, marking a significant moment in his political journey.
