Monsoon: The Southwest Monsoon has advanced, with its Northern Limit passing through key locations, including Kannur, Coimbatore, and Kanyakumari. Conditions are favorable for further progression into the central Arabian Sea, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Southwest Bay of Bengal over the next two days.
A cyclonic circulation over Arunachal Pradesh is expected to bring widespread rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds to the northeastern states and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim over the next week. Heavy rainfall is predicted in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya.
Additionally, a trough from west Uttar Pradesh to west Assam will likely cause scattered rainfall in Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, and other regions. Kerala and Mahe are set to experience very heavy rainfall, while light to moderate rain is expected across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, isolated light rainfall with thunderstorms is expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand due to a Western Disturbance. Dust storms are forecasted for Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat on June 2.
Maximum temperatures have dropped in Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, though heat wave conditions persist in Punjab, Haryana, and other states.
