The Southwest Monsoon continues to withdraw from several regions, with the line of withdrawal now passing through key areas such as Nautanwa, Sultanpur, Panna, and Khargaon. Over the next 2-3 days, conditions will favor further monsoon withdrawal from parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. However, certain regions will continue to experience rainfall.
1. Monsoon Withdrawal Line Updates
The monsoon withdrawal line currently extends through areas including Nautanwa, Sultanpur, and Khargaon. The retreat of the Southwest Monsoon is expected to cover the remaining parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and some parts of Maharashtra within the next few days.
2. Weather Systems Impacting Rainfall
An upper air cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal off the Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh coasts will influence rainfall patterns across South India. This system will bring continued rainfall to coastal and southern regions of India.
3. Rainfall Forecast for Southern India
In South Peninsular India, widespread moderate rainfall is expected across Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, and Karnataka. Additionally, isolated heavy to hefty rainfall is predicted over Kerala and Mahe between October 7-12, as well as heavy showers in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal during the week.
4. East and Northeast Rainfall Outlook
Northeast India, including Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh, will experience fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall throughout the week. In the coming days, heavy rainfall is likely in Arunachal Pradesh and parts of Northeast India, including Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
