Today, on June 13, as the nation commemorates 27 years since the release of the iconic war epic ‘Border’, Bollywood star Sunny Deol, alongside esteemed director JP Dutta, has officially unveiled plans for a sequel that promises to reignite the fervor of patriotism across the country.
Titled ‘Border 2’, this forthcoming cinematic spectacle is announced through a poignant video shared by the team, featuring Sunny Deol’s resonant voice declaring, “27 saal pehle ek fauji ne waada kiya tha ke vo vapas aayega, usi wade ko pura karne, Hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne aa raha hai fir se” (27 years back, a soldier promised that he would return to fulfill that promise and to salute Hindustan’s soil, he is coming again).
Described as “India’s biggest war film”, ‘Border 2’ aims to capture the spirit and sacrifice of India’s armed forces with the same passion that made its predecessor a timeless classic. The announcement video concludes with the iconic anthem “Sandese Aate Hain”, sung by Roopkumar Rathod and Sonu Nigam, evoking nostalgia and anticipation among fans.
Under the creative vision of Anurag Singh, known for his directorial prowess in films like ‘Kesari’ and ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’, and backed by the esteemed producers Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar of T-Series, and JP Dutta alongside Nidhi Dutta of JP Films, ‘Border 2’ is poised to set new benchmarks in cinematic storytelling.
