The most awaited and celebrated festival of India, Diwali, is the festival of lights. The festival is welcomed with enthusiastic gestures by people in every nook and cranny of the country. The wonderful festival is the celebration of five days. The key rituals of the Diwali festival take place on the 3rd day of the celebratory occasion.
Diwali is a festival where people light diyas and candles all around the house, worship Laxmi Ganesha to summon health and wealth, and burst crackers. The exchange of heartfelt gifts during Diwali has become a mandatory part of the celebration.
Diwali gifts are exchanged between friends, families, and colleagues as a gesture of showing love and affection. The special attraction of the occasion is the special and grand feast with delicious food that mandatorily includes different varieties of sweets.
1. Lights & Diyas
Diwali celebration would not be the same without lights and diyas. Having lights all throughout the house brings a special kind of happiness and joy into our lives. When the entire family gets involved in lighting up Diyas all around the home, it’s such an incredible feeling. There is something inexplicably amazing about this brightness that is hard to explain in words.
2. Laxmi-Ganesha Pujan
Hindu mythology believes that Laxmi is the Goddess of prosperity and she is worshipped with absolute faith on the day of Diwali. Laddu, flowers, reciting Aarti and every related thing are worshipped together in every household with Laxmi and Ganesha. The goal of this spiritual act is to bring happiness and prosperity to every household.
3. Delicious Food
The alluring part of the celebration is when the entire family sits together, giggles together, laughs and eats together that big fat Diwali dinner. Different varieties of sweets are cooked in every household. Some common items that are cooked in every home are Puri, Kheer, Gujia, and Namkeen.
4. New Clothes
Who likes wearing new and beautiful clothes? Everyone does, indeed! Everyone in the family performs Ganesha-Laxmi Pujan and lights up Diyas in the entire home after kitchen related work is completed and they have changed into new clothes. This creates a magical energy in everyone around.
5. Rangoli Making
Making Rangoli is an important part of Diwali celebration! It is not only done to decorate the home but it is believed in the Hindu mythology that Rangoli brings about happiness and merriment in the surrounding. Most offices also organize Rangoli making competitions for fun!
