In a shocking incident that has left the nation in grief, a crane collapse at Shahapur Sarlambe on Samruddhi Mahamarg claimed the lives of seventeen workers. The incident occurred at midnight, and the aftermath has been nothing short of heart-wrenching. Maharashtra’s Public Works (Public Undertakings) Minister, Eknath Shinde, expressed deep sorrow over the unfortunate accident and conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased.

However, the ongoing rain has added complexity to the rescue operations, necessitating additional precautions for the safety of rescue teams.
The crane collapse occurred during the construction of the third phase of the Samridhi Highway, raising questions about the safety protocols and construction practices at the site. Authorities must conduct a thorough examination of all the factors that led to this tragic event and work towards implementing stricter safety measures for all ongoing and future infrastructure projects.
