He praised Thakur’s groundbreaking work on reservations and equality, saying, “Shri Karpoori Thakur created a new chapter of social and political change, breaking years of old traditions, in a short time.”

Shri Dhankhar praised Thakur’s tireless dedication to uplifting marginalized communities. He praised Thakur’s remarkable character, saying, “He went beyond caste, religion, and class and never supported family-based politics.” His life embodies sacrifice and an unwavering commitment to equality.”

The Vice-President emphasized Thakur’s farsightedness, noting his significant reforms like implementing reservations and promoting Hindi in government offices. “He faced opposition and ridicule for these changes but was ahead of his time,” Dhankhar remarked. He also credited Thakur for making matriculation education free, prioritizing education for all.
